We are dedicated to support those who want to improve the conditions and livelihoods of the local community where our guests travel. As part of ethical buissness principles, we directly support initiatives that focus on education and the position of women in the oasis, to empower lasting change.
During your stay in Siwa, you have the opportunity to visit a partner project and see firsthand the positive impact these efforts have on their communities. If you just want to pay a visit, teach a song to little children, create an art project or visit a handicraft workshop run by local women, we organize it all. These experiences that you won’t find anywhere else, are for many the most impactful moments during their visit. It allows for deeper, more meaningful cultural exchange, as you experience these projects as part of your journey.
The education level in Siwa is one of the poorest in the country with scarcity of qualified teachers and good schools. Five Stars Kindergarten works towards making quality education available for every child. At the same time, local women and girls are continuosly trained to be skilled teachers, generating their own source of income.
Siwa is one of the most conservative and traditional societies of the country. Women spend most of their lives indoors and are (econimically) dependent on their husbands, leaving no room for autonomy over their own lives. Tiltawein strives to empower local women by giving them the possibility to generate their own income, by making traditional handicrafts or offering educational workshops.
Donating for humanitarian development projects can be a great way to support causes that you care about. And it creates a connection to between the donor and the receipents. Donations allows for organizations to recieve more funding to continue doing their important work. We support qualified non-profit organizations, meaning that your donation is tax-deductible. You can also consider setting up a recurring donation or volunteer your time, to make an even greater impact.
Donate any ammount so an orphan child can go to pre-school for a year. For $80 the expenses of a full year are covered.

Donate any ammount for a woman to learn one of the traditional Siwan handicrafts. For $150 the expenses of the entire course are covered.
