SIWA EAST

We start our tour with a beautiful ride towards the East of the oasis, passing by the famous Salt Lakes and discovering a surrealistic endless arid landscape.

We arrive to Qurashet, once the largest archeological site in the area, you can swim in this fresh water spring, which dates back to Roman times. Our adventure continues as we head to the ancient and deserted mud village of El Zeituna. Abandoned during WWII, it’s a perfect model of what a traditional Siwan village used to look like. A real used olive press and a hidden Roman temple can be found amongst the century old ruins. Our next stop is the Bedouin village of Ein Safi, which proudly maintain their customs such as carpet weaving done by local woman. You migh be lucky to find a unique piece.

At the end of the day, we catch the sunset over Siwa’s Eastern lake, before heading back 40 kms to Siwa. At the foot of Dakrour Mountain, you will savor a locally prepared dinner and have the possibility to dip into the natural hot spring to relax and enjoy its calming properties.
