SHIATA LAKE

We start our day with a captivating desert expedition, driving with our local expert through the mesmerizing sand dunes of the beginning of the Sahara desert. Explore this ever-changing landscape, with dunes as tall buildings and sand as yellow as gold.

After an exciting ride, looking like a mirage between the endless dunes, we arrive at Shiata lake.  This salt lake is a remaining part of the once mighty ocean, covering the entire area. Immerse yourself in solitude and serenity as time stands still and the untouched beauty of this unique landscape captivates your senses. Wander around and spot migratory birds, discover on a distance the pharaonic graves carved out in the mountain and dazzle away under the palm treees. At the shores of the blue waters, our desert guides prepare lunch for you.

As we continue our desert trip, we stop by the remains of petrified wood, indicating that there was once a forest, and get to admire large areas of different types of sea fossils. After having fun sandboarding, we enjoy the splendid scenery of a mesmerizing sunset.

As we head back to the village of Bahei ElDeen, you have the possibility to extend your trip with a locally prepared traditional dinner, against a scenery of impressive rocky mountains to enhance your experience.
